I wanted to be President: How Motherhood changed my life

October 5, 2026

For as long as I can remember, my goal was to “Change the World.” From aspiring to be President in elementary school to considering roles like Secretary of State or UN ambassador in high school, my path seemed clear. I had a blueprint: Go to College. Take the classes. Follow the steps. A + B = C.

However, somewhere along the way, a silent longing surfaced. Alongside my aspirations for international impact, I deeply desired to be a mom. It was an assumption I’d always made – “Of course, I’ll have kids one day.” Yet, the journey to motherhood didn’t follow the same clear-cut formula. There were no marked routes, no A + B = C. This uncharted territory left me grappling with internal conflict, frustrated by the lack of a straightforward path to fulfill my desire for a family.

Fast-forward I met my husband was was blessed with two incredible kids. I had always wanted to be a mom, but grossly underestimated how transformational it would be. It reset my priorities, realigned my aspirations, and made me feel both superhuman and fragile simultaneously. The world I wanted to change was now under my roof, and I embraced my role in shaping and nurturing these young souls.

The moment my son was placed on my chest, I felt a surge of power and presence I had never experienced before. Motherhood is an incredible force unto itself. It is powerful, vulnerable, fierce, strong, tender, and raw. It is sacred.

This journey has drawn me to the power of photography. This tool that allows us to freeze not only the “BIG” moments but also the easily forgotten yet deeply sacred instances. Often its these quiet, small memories that end up meaning the most to us. As a mom, I know the days go by slowly and the years go by fast. I understand full well, the exhaustion that comes alongside the beautiful chaos of daily life.  But one of my biggest fears is forgetting.

Forgetting those quiet smiles exchanged during bedtime stories, the shared glances that speak volumes, the wispy hairs and little dimples that disappear. I don’t want to forget the tiny tender gestures that often go unnoticed.

So instead of running the UN, I long to impact the world one Colorado family at a time. I want to help you see and hold on to the beauty of this amazing life. I want to help immortalize those precious, tiny moments that make your journey uniquely yours. I’m here to be your storyteller and your memory keeper.  By hiring me as your photographer, we can ensure that your motherhood and family story, with all its small, sacred details, is preserved for a lifetime.
